Satori is a cruising yacht built from glass fibre. Classic Works spent the winter of 2008/2009 making modifications to four cabins: the owners cabin, the crew cabin aft starboard, the aft port double guest cabin and the crew/workshop area port forward. We worked closely with Design Unlimited in England who oversaw all design issues relating to the modifications and our own design office provided final working drawings and details for the workshop team. | |
 | In the owners cabin a central fore and aft bulkhead was removed so as to make the cabin larger. In order to retain the structural integrity of the yacht, this bulkhead was replaced, following calculations by High Modulus, with a carbon fibre fore and aft deck beam that was vacuumed into place over a foam core. The original colour scheme for the yacht was completely changed by the new owners and they replaced the external (bimini, awning, spray dodger) and internal upholstery with new materials. Likewise, they changed the paint scheme from the original white to a dark grey. Many other smaller works were carried out also including all the standard jobs for a winter refit (engine service, safety equipment checks etc). Satori's mast was unstepped and she was in the workshop at Classic Works for 5 months. |
